About Us

Mount Rogers Community Services offers services in southwest Virginia for mental health, behavioral health, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and substance use disorders. We feature person-centered planning and embrace concepts of self-determination, empowerment, and recovery to support people to achieve their highest possible level of participation in work, relationships, and all aspects of community life.

Since 1972, Mount Rogers has served the region of southwest Virginia in Bland, Carroll, Grayson, Smyth, and Wythe counties, and the City of Galax. As a not-for-profit organization governed by a 14-member Board of Directors, Mount Rogers’ mission is to offer hope and support for better lives for people living in southwest Virginia.

Mission Statement

Mount Rogers Community Services is dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with mental, physical, and substance use intervention needs and committed to respecting people’s right to live in their home communities by promoting hope for the future and providing services and supports that promote self-determination, empowerment, recovery, resilience, health, and the highest possible level of participation in all aspects of community life including work, school, family, and other meaningful relationships.

Services will be provided for people to resume or continue participation in community life in as independent a manner as possible.
