Mount Rogers Community Services Employees Like it Here

A recent employee survey found that Mount Rogers employees find their work meaningful and that they contribute to a greater good.

We got great news about how our employees like working at Mount Rogers Community Services. We thought we’d share it.

Our workforce survey in fall 2025 told us we’re doing some things really well here at Mount Rogers Community Services. Our big takeaway is that our employees like us and want to stay.

While we know we can always do better, we feel good about where we are. And where we’re going.

A team led by Michael Southam-Gerew from Virginia Commonwealth University and the Center for Evidence-Based Partnerships sent out a workforce wellbeing survey to all our employees. The survey wanted to find out why people stay at Mount Rogers.

About 50% of our employees returned the survey. That’s a great return for an internal survey.

What Our People Said

Here are the highlights of what we learned:

  • Our people feel very connected to their coworkers.
  • Our people feel very strongly connected to our communities.
  • They have a strong sense of psychological safety working here.
  • They find a lot of meaning in the work they are doing.
  • They feel like they’re contributing to a greater good.
  • We rank high in our people feeling inspired and challenged by their work.
  • They want to stay here. (We love that!)

Leadership Reacts

CEO Sandy Bryant said the survey helped give leadership insights into how employees feel about working at Mount Rogers. The leadership and Mount Rogers Community Services Board of Directors are happy with the results, she said.

“We’ve learned from it and we hope to improve,” she said. “There’s always room for improvement.”

She also said Mount Rogers will continue to improve its communication with employees.

Mount Rogers expects to do another similar employee survey in two years.

One other thing. Would you like to join us and work at an organization where people like what they do and want to stay?
