Mount Rogers Opens Twin Campus in Galax to Expand Services
Mount Rogers Community Services is opening a new Twin Campus in Galax that expands and enhances our services.
Located in the former Vaughan Furniture headquarters, the campus is at 816 Glendale Road.
Services Under One Roof
The Twin Campus brings many of our services in Galax and Carroll and Grayson counties under one roof. The campus is also on the city’s public transportation route. The location brings ease of access to residents in Galax and Carroll and Grayson counties, and even beyond.
At the open house on June 22, guests received a tour of the campus, met staff members, and learned more about the breadth of services we provide. These services include:
- Adult counseling.
- Medical and nursing services.
- Prevention and wellness programs.
- Project Link to support pregnant and parenting women on the road to recovery.
- A peer center.
- A crisis care center.
Getting the Right Help
CEO Sandy Bryant said the Twin Campus is about same-day access and getting people the “right help right now.” A focus on wellness is one of the features of the new Twin Campus
“So, for people who walk in the door, if they need food they get food,” Bryant said. “And if they need a shower and clean clothes, they get a shower and clean clothes. That’s happening now. We’re helping them find shelter and we’re helping them find employment. We’re giving them a purpose and meeting their needs in a compassionate way.”
Bryant said she appreciated the support of our partners on this project. “I appreciate all those who made this building what it is,” she said. “It looks beautiful and we’re very proud of it.”
The building will be fully open and operational in July.
