Mount Rogers Community Services to Hold “Fishing for Vets” Tournament on March 28

Proceeds to support programs for veterans

Mount Rogers Community Services is holding a fishing tournament to support healing, healthful programs for veterans on South Holston Lake on March 28.

Mount Rogers plans to hold the tournament from 6 a.m. to noon at Washington County Park. The park is 10 miles south of Abingdon, Va.

Mount Rogers is a top provider of community services for mental health, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and substance use disorders in southwest Virginia. Mount Rogers also offers geriatric, counseling, early intervention, and other services in Wythe, Smyth, Carroll, Bland, and Grayson counties and the city of Galax.

“Fishing for Vets is a way for people to combine their love of fishing with support for our veterans,” said Mount Rogers Communications and Marketing Director Matt Sabo. “It’s a great fit because it gives many of our veterans a chance to participate in something they love to do. Taking veterans fishing is also a key piece of our therapeutic programs.”

The proceeds from the tournament will support therapeutic experiences for our armed forces veterans. For veterans, these experiences include:

• Promoting healing.
• Building camaraderie.
• Supporting a sense of community.

The cost of the event is $50 per boat. Mount Rogers is also seeking sponsors for the event. Sponsorship levels range from $100 to $1,000 and include:

Platinum Sponsor – $1,000

All Gold-level benefits plus:

• Large logo placement on main event banner and website.
• Opportunity to speak at the awards ceremony.
• Featured post spotlighting your business on event’s social media.
• Two complimentary tournament entries (instead of one).
• Option to set up a promotional booth at the event.

Gold Sponsor – $500

All Silver-level benefits plus:

• Medium-sized logo featured on all marketing materials and social media posts.
• Company banner displayed at event venue (provided by sponsor).
• One complimentary tournament entry.
• Recognition during awards ceremony.

Silver Sponsor – $250

All Bronze-level benefits plus:

• Small logo displayed on event banner and promotional materials.
• Recognition during event announcements.

Bronze Sponsor – $100

• Name listed on event flyer and website as a Bronze Sponsor.
• Recognition on social media event posts.
